Sports

The Dominican Convent has newly acquired a sports facility, namely the former Italian Club (Circolo Italiano) on 32 Quendon Road, Strathaven. The sports facility has officially been renamed ‘Veritas Sports Centre’. Thanks to this development, the school now has a netball and volleyball team, and our soccer girls will be using this sports facility. The students are excited about this development and are looking forward to fully participating in sport. A committee will be put in place to assess how best we can use this facility as a school. Minor repair and maintenance work have started at the place. Parents are welcome to go and visit the place in Strathaven. Your suggestions, donations and contributions will be most appreciated.

Dominican Convent offers a wide range of sporting activities. These include basketball, field hockey, karate, soccer, swimming, tennis and squash. Appointment of coaches was done professionally. Those with relevant qualifications with regard to a particular sport and experience made it this season. This is so because our endeavour as a school is to equip every child with relevant skills and fitness. Every sport has a coach who is highly skilled and able to handle pupils. Our facilities afford all pupils the opportunity to participate in sport regardless of their abilities.
