Golden Glory: Convent Dominates at NASH District Athletics!

On 20 February, the Convent Athletic team competed at the NASH District competition held at Prince Edward, where our ladies delivered an extraordinary display of talent, determination, and discipline, earning an incredible 21 Gold medals, 11 Silver medals, and 3 Bronze medals

In a remarkable achievement, Convent secured 1st place overall for the fourth consecutive year, reaffirming our position as a dominant force in district athletics.

Individual Excellence

Our athletes shone across a range of events:

Princess Masikati claimed Bronze in the 200m, while Time Nyasha Taruvinga powered to Gold in the 300m hurdles. Watipa Chinamasa (Long Jump), Rudaviro Katsiga (Triple Jump), and Sasha Mawadza (200m) each secured Gold in their events.

Memory Mufakwese delivered a phenomenal double victory, winning Gold in both the 400m and 400m hurdles. Ruvarashe Sibanda soared to Gold in Long Jump and High Jump, while Ruvimbo Vengesai dominated with Gold in both Long Jump and Triple Jump.

Sharon Bare impressed with Gold in High Jump and 100m hurdles, and Keisha Njazi secured Gold in Shot Put and Javelin. Chiedza Munikwa added to the medal tally with Gold in Shot Put and Silver in Discus.

Other strong performances included:

  • Tadiwanashe Mupini – Silver (100m)

  • Ivana Chiwashira – Silver (100m)

  • Panashe Maturure – Silver (Shot Put)

  • Anesu Chayenda – Silver (Triple Jump)

  • Vimbainashe Murewi – Bronze (200m)

  • Anijah – Bronze (High Jump)

 

Relay Dominance

Our relay teams demonstrated exceptional teamwork and composure under pressure.

The U16 teams earned Silver in both the 4x400m and 4x100m events. The U18 teams were unstoppable, claiming Gold in the Medley, 4x100m, and 4x400m relays.

The U20 athletes continued the momentum, winning Gold in both the Medley and 4x100m relays, and securing Silver in the 4x400m.

Each baton pass, every stride, and every finish reflected unity, preparation, and Convent pride.
